Position Highlights

ARID Lab is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to create content for our existing projects. The ARID Lab Multimedia Specialist will work with our project leads to design and develop various products for dissemination including but not limited to video abstracts, lay summaries, recruitment materials and multimedia dissemination materials.

ARID Lab is a research unit in the Division of Genetics and Developmental Pediatrics and the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center. We conduct a variety of surveillance, retrospective and prospective research, community and public health projects related to individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities, genetics, and birth related issues. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under supervision, designs, and coordinates routine multimedia and graphics projects for the lab for website and social media platforms to communicate activities of the lab through video abstracts of scientific manuscripts, visual representation of scientific concepts, and creation of awareness and educational videos for "science explained" series.
  • Use communication and multimedia technology, graphic design concepts and programs, photography, and videography, and creatively applies design to scientific material and content for CME courses (including videos, graphics, podcasts, etc.) and content for other educational resources.
  • Ensure quality of multimedia and graphics projects.
  • Engage with other ARID members to receive instructions about needs, and implement planning and development, and determination of timelines. 
  • Attend meetings to consults to determine project objectives and production requirements such as equipment, facility, and material resources required. Determines, modifies, and proposes production plans to client.
  • Participates in preproduction management, creative development, and client and talent consultation. 
  • Provide technical support for ARID Lab special events by setting up and maintaining the technical equipment, including audio-visual requirements. 
  • Maintain equipment inventory; test and arrange repairs as needed.
  • Helps ARID Lab with other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with interpreting clinical data and medical information.
  • Experience with relevant Adobe software programs.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and multimedia design and creation.
  • Familiarity with UArizona processes.
