Job Description

The Multimedia Project Specialist I, under general supervision, serves primarily as graphic art creator supporting the content creation projects of instructional designers. This position will also assist as first level technical support for the College of Engineering’s video capture, storage and streaming solution (currently Mediasite). Lastly the position supports faculty driven academic multimedia production utilizing studio spaces located in the Engineering Studio for Advanced Instruction and Learning on the 4th floor of the Zachry Engineering Education Complex and the University at large as needed. This is a full-time position located on-campus in College Station. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop graphical animations for academic courses and other projects.
  • Develop high resolution graphics, figures and charts, and imaging files for academic courses and other projects.
  • Maintain multimedia/graphic libraries including photos, graphics, animations, and videos for academic courses and other projects.
  • Provides first level technical support for video capture, storage and streaming solution (currently Mediasite) issues including solving and closing support tickets, providing faculty support and assistance, and equipment installation. 
  • Assists with scheduling, providing training, and supporting the faculty production studios for academic courses and other projects.
  • Develops and updates training for the use of faculty production studios and video capture and streaming solutions as needed.
  • Assists with video production projects for academic courses and other projects.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • One year of related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with the Adobe Suite of products. Specifically After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The candidate must possess a strong knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Cloud platform (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) while also having a creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense.
  • Candidate must also have confidence to present and explain ideas to colleagues with an ability to handle constructive criticism, take direction, and abide by university design guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to create original digital graphics and artwork in various imaging file formats.
  • Ability to learn new software and technical systems.
  • Ability to guide and provide training in an effective manner.
