The Multimedia Production Specialist I is responsible for working with members of the communications office to coordinate and develop college and department videos to support communications projects including but not limited to: university and college promotion campaigns, student highlights and feature articles. Position details: Position requires loading, unloading, and/or moving of heavy equipment. Must be able to lift moderate weight objects.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • No experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Knowledge of graphic formatting and its appropriate use.

  • Ability to work on Mac OS hardware.

  • Mastery of cinema camera operations, set design and lighting, post production editing, color grading, audio recording, and audio editing.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to create original artwork in various imaging file formats.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Three years of related experience.

  • Experience operating BlackMagic Design URSA Moni or other BlackMagic cameras.

  • Experience with video editing and video effects software.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability working with diverse populations.

  • Proficient in video editing software, including: Apple final cut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After effects. and DiVinci Resolve. 

Responsibilities

  • VIDEO PRODUCTIONS DEVELOPMENT - Assists the Video Coordinator and other members of the communications office to develop videos related to strategic messages and needs of the college.  Plans, schedules, and films video projects for news features, social media needs, event coverage, and program recruitment.

  • POST PRODUCTION - Assists the Video Coordinator to edit and finish video projects related to strategic messages and needs of the college. This includes any and all aspects of editing for each project as appropriate for all video types.

  • ASSET MANAGEMENT - Maintains and organizes all video assets and equipment under the supervision of the Video Coordinator. Video assets include digital video footage, b-roll, and finished video projects. Assists the Director in the management of archival footage.  Performs other duties as assigned.
