Sundodger Creative acts as the internal brand communications umbrella serving the University of Washington Intercollegiate Department of Athletics.

As a key service unit of ICA's integrated marketing and communications platform, Sundodger is tasked with advancing departmental brand strategy through the development and thoughtful deployment of creative infrastructure, content creation, and dynamic coverage of UW’s 22 programs and 650+ student-athletes.

The Multimedia Designer for Men’s Basketball is responsible for producing photo, graphic and video elements on behalf of the UW men’s basketball program. This role acts as a creative lead through the design, development, and implementation of content for the purpose of recruiting, brand advancement, and fan engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Multimedia Designer for Men’s Basketball reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Brand Advancement and will work collaboratively with the Director of Operations for Men’s Basketball and other members of the Sundodger Creative staff to develop and produce content for recruiting and promotional purposes. In addition – will craft a plan for men’s basketball recruiting which includes a detailed thematic visual ID that achieves strategic goals – produce team video integration pieces including player and coach features, team introductions, game recaps, and cinematic storytelling features – also produce hype videos geared at promoting the men’s basketball program and coaching staff for recruiting.

Collaborate with digital strategy counterparts to align with overarching departmental goals. Maintain detailed content calendar and manage/activate content on all UW men’s basketball social media accounts. Create a consistent brand personality for social media accounts. Design graphics and other elements for dissemination on social media platforms. Provide support to the coaching staff in use of social media on multiple platforms through education of the UW men’s basketball brand. Coordinate with fellow Sundodger Creative staff to ensure branding and artistic style are consistent across all design mediums. Coordinate with the UW Compliance office to ensure all content complies with NCAA recruiting rules.

Spearhead any special projects and creative promotional opportunities for the men’s basketball program. Create branded items and lead in photo shoot experiences to be used in the men’s basketball recruiting process.
Other duties as assigned.

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the PAC-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University.  The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.  As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, communications, business, public relations or a related field.  Professional experience may substitute for stated educational requirements.  A minimum 2 years of experience in video, multimedia production and/or basketball related responsibilities.  Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, video editing programs, technical use of cameras (photo and video), and possess superior organizational skills in order to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Ability to consistently lift and carry at least 40 pounds.

DESIRED:
Master’s degree and knowledge of collegiate athletics helpful, but not required.
