Additional Comments

The university community poses unique challenges and situations for the Security Officers. Even though the university is considered a safe environment, the very nature of security work periodically places an officer in uncomfortable and potentially volatile situations. In addition to the demands of the university and the inherent challenges of security, officers may experience adverse effects on their mental health, family life, and overall social life. The Security Specialist is constantly responding to calls for service and therefore must be well versed in conflict management, first aid, policy, and procedures.
