Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Move Coordinator/Custodial Technician reports directly to the Senior Custodial Services Worker and is also overseen by the Facility Manager. In collaboration with the college’s events management, this position will both perform the duties of setting up for all events as well as coordinating event setups at all college locations, to include interpreting plans and schematics. This position will have a primary location on the Parham Road Campus but will perform work responsibilities at all college campuses. In addition to the primary duties of event support and setup, this position will also provide back-up support for all custodial personnel as needed. This position is considered “Essential Personnel” and as a first responder to inclement weather and other emergencies.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, and furniture layout plans and the ability to communicate plans to staff for execution. Knowledge of and ability to apply proper safety techniques to be used in day-to-day housekeeping operations, Ability to operate wet and dry vacuums and other housekeeping equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Incumbent of this position must have the ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and to tolerate contact with a variety of cleaning products and solutions. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Training and/or related experience in moving furniture and event set up, and housekeeping may be substituted for educational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience in day-to-day set ups and cleaning in school or institution-type setting. Valid driver’s license preferred.
