The MoneyCoach connects individually with incoming and current students to provide financial coaching services which may include financial literacy, budgeting and counseling on financial aid options to fund their education through graduation.

The MoneyCoach Will Have:

Essential Duties:

  • Provide a full range of student financial services support to students, parents, and the public by responding to inquiries and requests for assistance in person, online or by phone.  
  • Deliver a holistic counseling experience focusing on academic and degree progress, financial wellness, student retention and graduation rates.
  • Participate in on-going professional training and development with federal financial aid, financial coaching, money management, and related certification requirements.
  • Planning and delivering workshops and educational products to the diverse OU community concerning financial education. 
  • Analyze, review, and take action on student case load assignments to identify roadblocks, problems, or other potential threats to retention and graduation. 
  • Meet on a regular and as needed basis with prospective students either in person or by phone to provide financial coaching services during recruitment and summer enrollment sessions. 
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to assist with recruitment efforts and financial planning for prospective students.
  • Assists with development and administration of office polices and procedures.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. 

**This position will be located in Norman with a flexible and/or part-time remote option possible after required training period. This position is also eligible to participate in our Launch Advancement Program and receive up to $7,500 upon completion. *** 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree.

Equivalency/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate well and build quickly with students, faculty and staff

Certifications:

  •   None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for long periods of time.  Ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry.  Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Standard office environment.  Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. 

Departmental Preferences:

  • Prefer experience in the Student Services arena and/or financial institutions
