Summary of Duties:

Serves as the primary driver of the Mobile Medical Unit for Range Community Clinic and assists with the delivery of patient care services and management, and navigation of participants on and off the mobile unit. This position requires a high amount of travel throughout the state, which could include extended and overnight travel.

Class A or B Driver License or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire is required for this position. The role will initially be part time, 50% FTE/20 hours per week, with anticipation to increase to 40 hours per week in the coming year.
The role will also assist with preparations and ongoing maintenance of the Mobile Medical Vehicle such as ensuring overall cleanliness before, during, and after visits; performing equipment checks; maintaining inventory supplies; and performing other duties required to support the Mobile Medical Vehicle’s readiness to operate and to accept participant encounters.
As a fundamental aspect of the mission of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is to provide medical service to the rural and/or underserved populations, the coordinator will be a representative of the Unit, College and Washington State University while the unit is in the community providing services.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a valid driver’s license AND at least one year experience working as a Truck Driver 1; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

• Class A or Class B driver’s license or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Obtain and maintain valid CPR/ First Aid certification within 30 days of appointment; blood-borne pathogen (BBP); obtain and maintain required vaccinations for workers exposed to patients as defined by the CDC.
• Ability to use and operate office technology equipment such as a computer.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel extended distances in single/multiple day time spans. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to exercise appropriate judgement in volatile situations.
• Current driver’s license or ability to obtain one by time of hire; ability to operate Mobile Healthcare Unit (gross weight above 28,000 pounds).
• Must be able to interact with client personnel and health care team members in a responsible, professional, and ethical manner

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the healthcare industry/ previous use of administrative healthcare systems/records management.
• Experience with any or all the following activities: supplies management, inventory, vehicle maintenance.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Attendant, or RN a plus.
