A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Wan Hee Yoon, in Functional & Chemical Genomics Research Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF). We are looking for highly motivated scientist to discover molecular and cellular mechanisms how mitochondrial dysfunctions cause human neurological diseases. We are in a Drosophila genetics lab that actively utilizes state-of-the-art of genetic technologies, metabolomics, biochemistry, advanced imaging (confocal & EM), molecular biology, as well as human patient cells. Please see some of our recent publications listed below for more information: Neuron. 2017; 93(1): 115-131; Am J Hum Genet. 2016; 99(4): 831-845
We are an interdisciplinary Drosophila genetics laboratory fully equipped for fly genetics, routine cell and molecular biology work, and imaging, and biochemistry studies. Our group is located in a newly renovated lab space, and is a member of the rapidly growing Functional and Chemical Genomics Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. OMRF is an independent, not-for-profit, biomedical research institute adjacent to the campus of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City. OMRF investigators enjoy close scientific interactions with OUHSC faculty and participate in OUHSC graduate programs. Additional information about OMRF can be found at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation web site: www.omrf.org
Successful candidates must hold a doctoral-level degree with solid background of genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry, or a related filed and a demonstrated track record (1st author publications) of productive research is required. Experience with Drosophila genetics, biochemical assays for mitochondria metabolism, cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, and metabolomics is desirable. Successful candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to work collaboratively.
To inquire or apply please write to WanHee-Yoon@omrf.org with the subject line: Yoon lab/Postdoctoral position. Please include an updated CV, 1-2 relevant publications, a brief statement of research interests and goals, and contact information of three references.
