Mentor 14 (temporary) - School of Continuing Studies - Georgetown University

Job Overview

Mentors - in temporary academic support roles - supervise and provide an enriching and educational experience for a cohort of up to 25 high school students.

Successful mentors are energetic and enthusiastic about academic enrichment and the college experience, take the initiative to solve problems, communicate naturally and empathetically with high-school students, and maintain daily habits that help them stay organized.

Here are their main areas of responsibility:

  • Program development
  • Program implementation
  • Student Affairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current or graduating undergraduate or graduate student or recently graduated
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and Zoom

Preferred qualifications

  • Current or graduating GU student
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Experience working with faculty
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Supervisory and/or leadership experience
  • Institutional knowledge of Georgetown University
  • Knowledge or experience relating to the Academy subject matter

Notes

  • Qualified candidates will be invited for an in-person group interview in February
  • The selected candidate must complete a successful background check - post offer and before hire
