Mental Health Clinician

This therapist position is responsible for assisting the Director of Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) with the clinical demands of providing services to UCF medical students. Counseling and Wellness Services is responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of M.D. program student wellness programming, outreach activities, and provision of clinical care which includes approximately 25 hours weekly (per therapist) of direct individual, group, and couples counseling as well as consultation and crisis intervention.

  • Responsible for providing empirically supported psychological treatments to students with anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, and other personal concerns related to their goals, needs, values, attitudes, conflicts, personal and interpersonal styles, educational or career choice, academic or work functions, social, emotional, or physical nature.
  • Provide outreach programming and workshops on developmental, preventative, and psychological topics. Assist with oversight of the Peer Support Program.
  • May perform other clinical or administrative duties as requested, including but not limited to suggested university and college trainings (i.e. HIPAA, Safezone, QPR). This includes participation Student Affairs staff meetings and Student Affairs events as part of the broader UCF-COM community.
