Looking to take your Behavioral Health career in a new direction, while still having a positive impact? Life & Work Connections is seeking an experienced behavioral health professional passionate about empowering individuals. This unique position focuses on the development and delivery of interactive workshops infused with the opportunity to learn skills that support our mental health and wellness. The Mental Health & Wellness Specialist will work with a cross-functional team of fun professionals as well as collaborate with campus and community partners to promote, develop, coordinate, and implement mental health and wellness resources and services available to UArizona employees. This position may be based anywhere within Arizona. Travel to the Tucson Main Campus is required to attend presentations regularly; expenses associated with travel to The Tucson Main Campus will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and present workshops on various mental health and wellness topics including, but not limited to, psychological and emotional well-being, stress management, relationships, family issues, managing change, and communication skills.
  • Collaborates with a team members, university partners, and community entities to coordinate, implement and manage mental health and wellness related projects and programs.
  • Participates in health and wellness promotion activities (orientation, fairs, trainings, etc.) and regularly contributes to health and wellness campaigns.
  • Contributes to the evaluation, formation and promotion of health and wellnesscentric work environment norms, procedures and policies to enhance the institutions culture of health and wellness.
  • Identifies, evaluates and may manage behavioral health vendors and partners; makes recommendations for program changes and enhancements.
  • This position may be based anywhere within Arizona. Travel to the Tucson Main Campus is required to attend presentations regularly; expenses associated with travel to The Tucson Main Campus will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of multiple therapeutic approaches in order to design and deliver therapeutically informed psychoeducation
  • Demonstrates knowledge of behavioral health best practices to help inform communications, processes, or policies
  • Demonstrates commitment to continued learning of evidence-based psychoeducation
  • Ability to write, listen, communicate and present effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years’ work experience in the behavioral health field - Current or prior licensure in as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
