About the Opportunity
An integral member of the Membership team and under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Integrated Fundraising, the Membership Manager is responsible for the project management and execution of digital fundraising strategies and communications for current and prospective donors of PBS North Carolina. This role supports the development and execution of fundraising programs for a multi-channel (print, broadcast, digital and social) and donor-centric communication strategy throughout the annual giving cycle, from identification to solicitation to stewardship. The Membership Manager provides direct support for a dynamic and growing digital fundraising program, working with the Assistant Director of Integrated Fundraising to implement digital campaigns for fundraising, donor engagement, new donor acquisition and donor retention in order to expand and diversify the base of support and increase levels of giving. This includes the development and implementation of digital fundraising initiatives including e-appeals, online advertising, social media, and mobile, as well as optimizing fundraising through PBS North Carolina's website in support of organizational fundraising and strategic planning efforts.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
The PBS North Carolina Development Division is to expand and diversify revenue sources to drive sustainable growth for the organization. The division accomplishes this by generating solicitations and campaigns based in both emotion and intelligence, heart and data.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience/education. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Competencies
Understanding of and demonstrated experience with the techniques of successful, multi-channel fundraising and engagement campaigns including strategy and analysis, communications, data management, and solicitations in various forms (direct mail, broadcast, digital, social media). • Ability to write and adapt fundraising content and solicitations for email and social media formats. • Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow revenue and engagement. • Proven technical experience with digital platform management, multi-channel campaign execution and leveraging data and insights to develop phased and personalized cultivation pathways to generate ROI. • Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system such as Tessitura, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge NXT or others. • Experience with building and maintaining donation forms, surveys and other user engagement features, and running reports/interpreting audience analytics. • Ability to design and execute audience segmentation strategies to meet campaign goals, including communicating segmenting to other staff. • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and opportunities. • Ability to self-direct daily activities and set priorities.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
• Attention to detail and ability to keep track of many details in a complex, dynamic, and diverse environment. • Expertise with fundraising and marketing technology platforms for email management, donation forms, social media advertising and paid advertising. • Eager to explore new technologies to improve system performance. • Comfortable communicating with internal team members and external vendors. • Experience with graphic design software and best practices. • Detail oriented with respect to donor communications, mailing lists and reporting. • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission of public broadcasting.
