The Member Services student assistant serves as the front-line contact for the facility and the Department of Wellness and Recreation. This position requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. This position works closely with professional staff, fellow students, faculty and staff and members of the community. 

Facility Access Control and Policy Enforcement, 50%: Responsible for maintaining facility access control. Requires use of communication and computer skills. Works with professional staff and student supervisors to enforce department and facility policies and procedures for the purpose of providing a safe and healthy atmosphere. 

Front Line Resource for Facility and Department, 25%: Provide quality customer service by promoting a positive first impression, being well informed and effectively communicating information regarding Wellness and Recreation facilities, programs, memberships, events and more. Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment.

General Office Duties and Sales Transactions, 25%: Performs general office duties including answering main phone line and directing calls, generating and responding to emails, use of office equipment (computers, iPads, printers, scanners, etc..). Processes sales transactions using member management software, credit card machine, online sales platform, electronic signature capture and paper documents. 

Required Qualifications:   High School Diploma, Currently enrolled GCSU student with eligibility and availability to work the upcoming fall and spring semesters. Must be, or become, First Aid, CPR/AED Certified. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Prior experience working with the public in a retail, sales or customer service role. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel. Social media fluency helpful.

Must be a student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College
