The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Pharmacy invites applications for the Medication Reconciliation Pharmacist Preceptor role. This is a part-time specialty practice pharmacist position at the College of Pharmacy under the direction of the Director of Experiential Education and working closely with the IPPE P2 Program Administrator. The pharmacist will be primarily responsible for educating trainees through precepting PharmD students in the Medication Reconciliation program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Through precepting, the pharmacist will provide exceptional patient care to improve patient outcomes by ensuring patients’ medication histories are completed accurately and according to established OSUWMC policies and procedures. The pharmacist will also assist with rotation orientation, onboarding, and remediation of PharmD students and other College of Pharmacy duties as assigned.

This position will require in-person attendance on the OSU Columbus campus for most job duties, but there may be an option for a small percentage of remote work based on the demands of specific tasks.

The pharmacist will be a member of the Pharmacy Practice and Science Division, which has over 25 faculty engaged in teaching, research, and clinical practice and is recognized for innovative practice models, established research programs, translational science initiatives, residency and fellowship training, and leadership in national pharmacy organizations.

  • Understand that the duties of this position are flexible and can change or may adapt over time to reflect the needs of the OSU College of Pharmacy.

Required Experience: BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an ACPE accredited program, licensed in Ohio or eligible for Ohio licensure, served as preceptor frequently for pharmacy students for at least 2 years, recent patient care experience as a pharmacist, must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.

Desired Experience:  Serving as preceptor to both IPPE and APPE pharmacy students with a demonstrated understanding of experiential education and the pharmacy preceptor experience; PGY1 residency

Required Certification(s) or License(s): Ohio pharmacist licensure or eligible to become Ohio pharmacist licensed


Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $87,750 - $107,250. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
