Position Summary
Position performs advanced secretarial duties and assists with coordination of various office duties for the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer phones; triage/distribute calls/messages.
- Sort and distribute information received via fax and mail.
- Schedule appointments for patients in appropriate visit type, physician and location.
- Complete tasks from physicians, nurses and other department staff.
- Fax lab requisitions, and office notes to outside locations when necessary.
- Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, and staff, providing routine information to patient inquiries
- Assist administrative/clinical staff during peak times, vacations/illnesses
- Assist with retrieval and delivery of reports, films, and outside records
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical terminology and taking telephone calls.
- Ability to type and use various software packages, and working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment and computers (specifically Microsoft Office).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
- Three years of related experience in a medical office setting.

G07-H
Salary Range
$18.91 - $29.32 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
