Position Summary
The employee will provide services of direct benefit to students and their education. This position will be responsible for the coordination and administrative aspects of medical school curriculum. These responsibilities ensure that the curriculum is operationalized and all curricular needs (e.g., communicating with faculty in regards to course facilitation, collection of schedules, course materials, and preparation of course materials including small group materials, managing and updating the LMS, etc.) are met. This employee has responsibility as an administrative assistant to the TEC Curriculum Committees (Foundation, Application, Individualization & TEC Education).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s degree in education, special education, instructional design, educational technology, educational media, or related discipline with coursework in curriculum development or learning theory; or a Bachelor’s degree in the assigned discipline and two years of experience in teaching, educational testing, or instructional design and curriculum development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Ability to plan and organize work by sequencing and prioritizing tasks, coordinating with other work groups, and meeting major deadlines. Ability to respond to an environment with changing priorities and constant demands by adjusting workload appropriately. Ability to anticipate and prepare for the needs of faculty or potential conflicts, particularly as it relates to course support and committee work.
Demonstration of strong writing and oral skills. Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships with individuals at various levels at the School of Medicine, including faculty, department chairs, staff, and students.
Ability to learn and use a wide range of software and hardware for operational or educational purposes, including applications designed to disseminate course and committee information, conduct course evaluations, develop and administer assessments.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preferred candidate will have knowledge of teaching methodology and techniques, instructional design systems, communications theory, and education materials production techniques.
