SUMMARY

Coordinates all daily functions for the research laboratory inclusive of, but not limited to clinical trial protocol interpretation for laboratory specimen collection and processing, phlebotomy, accessioning, and packaging of specimens for shipmen

Summary Of Duties:

1.    Performs accurate processing of laboratory specimens, demonstrating a moderate degree of proficiency and understanding of research protocol procedures.
2.    Participate in solution of technical problems requiring great degree of independent judgment.
3.    Oversee all aspects of research laboratory
a.    Laboratory kits:
a.    Prepare and process laboratory kits for all research patients
b.    Inventory laboratory kits
c.    Order laboratory kits as needed
d.    Destroy expired laboratory kits
b.    Review all laboratory manuals provided by the clinical trial sponsor
c.    Address laboratory queries as needed
d.    Be a resource and contact for Sponsors and other laboratory facilities that pertain to the clinical trial.
e.    Obtain required laboratory documents for clinical trials
f.    Obtain all required specimens from outside laboratories as outlined in the protocol
g.    Maintain a complete inventory of all specimens:
h.    that are collected and stored at The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute and to be shipped to other facilities that are obtained and returned to other facilities


Education:

•    Minimum requirement: High School diploma or equivalent

License:

•    Current CPT1 licensure required.
•    Current BLS certification required from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.

Experience:

•    Experience in clinical trial protocol interpretation for laboratory needs.
•    Three to five years of clinical lab bench experience in processing of patient samples
