Purpose

Work independently, under the direction of the Medical Education Director and Vice Chair of Education, to manage the activities of Pediatric Training Program(s) in the Department of Pediatrics (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin. Provide direction and guidance to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program’s goals.

Primary Functions

  •   Maintain Pediatric Training Program(s) timeline including tracking deadlines for program deliverables.

  •   In collaboration with Pediatric Medical Education Leadership team, develop and manage the program budget including philanthropic support, grant development, and centralized (DOP and CW) funding.

  •   Oversee scheduling of necessary people and material resources within respective educational programs.

  •   Participate in the development of program policies, procedures and resources through literature searches, contact with outside programs, and review of funding opportunities.

  •   Recruit, train, and directly supervise Pediatric Education Coordinators and Education Program Associates, including development of job descriptions for new staff members, allocation of tasks, annual performance evaluations and goal setting in EMERGE system

  •   Manages and oversees compliance with program accreditation requirements.

 •    Ensures institutional education requirements (CW, MCW, MCWAH) are met through effective management of daily operations, business affairs, as well as learner professional educational needs.

  •   Oversee, delegate and assist with coordinating the development of program materials including educational and training materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports.

  •   Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of program data. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to the program.

Foster and grow relationships with external stakeholders within community in support of educational initiatives.

  •   Oversees and originates programs and special events (local, regional and national) related to the respective Pediatric Training programs.

  •   Oversee operational activities of the Pediatric Training Program(s) ensuring efficiency and compliance with MCW Department of Pediatrics / Children’s Wisconsin (Pediatric Enterprise) and MCWAH policies and procedures.

  •   Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.

  •   Ensure program data and progress are reported to program stakeholders.

  •   Serve as the principal liaison between the Pediatric Training Program(s) Leadership Team and Education Program Associates/Program Coordinators.

  •   Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession or area of research.

Preferred Schedule:
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate clinical needs.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Required Experience: 6 years

Preferred Education:  Master’s degree

Preferred Experience:  Education Program Coordination and management

Field:  Business Administration, Simulation focused education, Higher Education, Medical Education (GME or UME)
