ROLE SUMMARY

Medical Congress and Ad Board Innovation Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing key logistical deliverables for major medical congresses across various therapeutic areas as well as design and deploy an innovative Medical Affairs Ad Board Channel strategy across Pfizer Business Units. In this role, you will lead a team that will ensure that priority congress objectives are met, manage competing priorities, and provide oversight, attention to detail, and follow-through for congresses attended by key internal and external stakeholders. This role will closely collaborate with Medical Leads across priority brands and markets to achieve seamless coordination and execution.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Scientific Content Oversight

  • Provide leadership across TA/asset level teams within Medical Affairs in partnership with Medical Teams ensuring successful conference and/or Ad Board planning and execution tactics.
  • Will lead the team responsible for fostering clear understanding of all congress and Ad Board opportunities and deadlines.
  • Ensure the team collaborates with approved vendors to ensure all sourcing activities for the congress are appropriately procured, meeting quality and budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure an innovative design with customization options of the MA flow and key presentation materials (e.g. Pipeline presentations) for Medical Affairs booths at congresses
  • Ensure collection and dissemination of key insights, facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to select congresses to manage approved vendors and oversee on-site congress activities, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Leverage the latest technology to enhance internal and external collaboration, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive congress communications plan in alignment with stakeholders, ensuring effective and consistent messaging.
  • Build and maintain subject matter expertise on congresses innovation, staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging innovations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and share best practices across congresses and advisory boards, driving continuous improvement and enhancing overall performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders enabling informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines, particularly those related to FDA and other health agency regulations, as well as professional societies' rules.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or related field; Bachelors + 15+ years of experience required; MBA + 13+ years; PHD/PharmD + 8+ years
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing medical congresses and ad boards; medical affairs experience
  • Proven track record in overseeing teams and designing strategies to enhance engagement with Healthcare Professionals and congresses and ad boards
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, data privacy, and industry standards related to role
  • Demonstrate ability to -
    • Drive transformational change
    • Lead teams and engage diverse stakeholders
    • Understand the applications of technology to the Life Science sector

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) in Marketing, Digital Communications, or Life Sciences.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital analytics tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry trends for congresses and advisory boards operations

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $205,400.00 to $342,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
