Under supervision of the Center for Pain Medicine Administrative Nurse Manager, guided by policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Staff, the Hospital Assistant III assists in the delivery of care to patients in the Center for Pain Medicine.  This position may float between the front and back office performing both clerical and clinical duties. Work includes a variety of personal care and clinical procedures including assuring positive care outcomes.  They will perform assigned patient care and assist with set up of procedures as needed in support of the specialty care services provided to patients within the Center for Pain Medicine.  They are required to adhere to the Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent combination of training and experience. 
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Demonstrated computer familiarity, keyboard skills, computer literate in programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Willingness to learn new computer programs as needed to sustain practice operations. 
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and diverse socioeconomic situations.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Epic (APeX) electronic health record system
  • Experience working with the public, preferably in a medical/hospital/clinic environment

License/Certification

  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent combination of training and experience. 
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
