Responsibilities*

Taking and recording vital signs and collecting/processing specimens in point-of-care testing labs.
Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas according to approved physician-delegated protocols and standing orders.
Maintain In basket Messaging for Provider messaging, medication refills, Patient Portal messaging, etc.
Obtains and records accurate/pertinent intake information that includes preparing medical information and reports, medical history, medication information, allergies, surgical history, etc.
Efficiently and effectively prepare, stock, and organize clinic exam rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment.
Serves as a chaperone during sensitive examinations,
Monitor patient flow and notify patients/families of schedule or provider delays.
Perform other assignments such as assisting with orientation, clinic opening or closing processes, supply inventory and ordering (linen, medical supplies, medications), data collection, patient calls, and quality improvement and/or problem-solving initiatives.
Prepare, complete forms, and ensure patients are given appropriate paperwork, i.e., test/procedure instructions, school, or work forms.
Support virtual care appointments as applicable.
Responsible for maintaining a log from the Clinic Red bag; reviewing and monitoring medications and supplies for expiration dates.
Participate in creating efficient patient flow, coordinating with nursing, advanced practice professionals, residents, radiation therapists, and faculty.
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task independently.
Identify and track reoccurring operational problems and participate in resolution.
Perform other special projects, clerical support and duties as needed.
Maintains effective, collaborative relationships with other ACUs.
Responsible for ordering necessary medication and supplies.
Assist Office Staff in the Joint Commission preparedness.
Provide backup coverage for Check In, phones, and appointment scheduling as needed.
Coverage for other team members as needed.  Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations and work with Division leadership.
Responsible for employee staffing and schedule, time reporting oversight, vacation, and personal time request approvals.
Medical Assistant competencies.
Continuous JCAHO monthly audits and readiness.  Ensuring team is comfortable with Onesource, where to locate other information needed for compliance, etc.
Ensure HDR procedure coverage.


Required Qualifications*

High School Diploma or GED

Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of Medical Assistant Experience

Preceptor status

MiChart Experience

Excellent Customer Service skills

Excellent Attendance

Excellent technical skills: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
