The UW Medical Center - Physical Therapy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, MEDICAL ASSISTANT. Medical Assistants (MAs) perform duties to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including: preparing the patient and the environment for treatment, physically assisting with mobilization, providing patient care coordination, management of daily exercise class, assigning tasks to volunteers and work-study students, and clerical/reception functions.  The MA also communicates with physical therapists and team members about the patient’s clinical condition and family/caregiver concerns. As a member of the health care team, the MA helps to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff.
