The University of Colorado Colorado Springs, in collaboration with the City Employee Medical Clinic, is seeking applications for a Medical Assistant (MA). This is a full time, University Staff position that will be responsible for assisting with front and back office duties in our small family practice.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with patient check in, exams, minor office procedures including set-up, clean-up, patient prep and documentation in the electronic medical record. Administer injections, specimen collection and point of care testing.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, review medication lists and document care provided per established guidelines.
  • Prepare and disinfect exam rooms for each patient's visit. Ensure adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available. Inventory and order medical supplies. Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained per protocol.
  • Assist with scheduling patients, phone messages, keeping referral information up to date.

This position has been determined to be eligible for overtime (non-exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

 

What We Offer:

 

​​​​​Salary Range: Generally start ing at: $38,340 - $46,224

 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues funding.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Active Medical Assistant registration or certification in the State of Colorado

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
