General Summary

Coaches provide 1:1 assistance or small group tutoring in MBA and/or TEC course for Illinois State University students with English as their second language. This position is for the fall semester with the possibility of extension based on operational needs.


Required Qualifications

- Applicants must have an overall GPA of at least 3.10.
- The ideal candidate will be proficient in the English language and be able to convey that knowledge clearly via the spoken and written word.
- The coach provides help tailored to each student's needs, so he/she must be friendly, have a desire to be helpful and must be able to communicate effectively.
- The coach needs to have completed at least two full semesters of MBA or TEC courses
- Current MBA or TEC graduate students


Desired Qualifications

Prior tutoring or teaching experience at the University level. Graduate student in both MBA and TEC programs.


Work Hours

Varies: 4 to 10 hours, may include some nights and weekends.

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.

International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session, but may work more when the university is not in session.
