The Materials Support Coordinator II position is in the Facilities Engineering Department of Fred Hutch and reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. The individual will work primarily in the material support section but will also be assigned work orders periodically to balance the workload. Individual must possess an understanding of material support. Should have working knowledge in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, digital controls, welding, steam and hot water systems or refrigeration.

A Material Support Coordinator (MSC) II is eligible to become an MSC I after 5 years in the MSC II role at Fred Hutch.

This position will be onsite Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-3:00 PM.


Responsibilities
  • Sourcing parts/part numbers for engineers
  • Inputting new inventory records
  • Places telephone orders with vendors, prioritizing requisitions and obtaining optimum pricing as well as shipping terms for most Fred Hutch purchases
  • Processes hazardous material orders via Fred Hutch policies
  • Processes and maintains orders for Facilities Engineering needs including standing and blanket orders. Maintains related files and reviews usage and requirements as appropriate.
  • Responsible for proper coding of products in eMaint
  • Communicates directly with customer service reps, sales reps and staff regarding order status identifies needs and solves
  • Regular vendor evaluations, summarizing activity for analysis
  • Track and expedite outstanding orders
  • Inventory control, barcoding, setting min/max of stock
  • Fully complies with all company health and safety procedures and policies
  • Duties will include driving the company vehicle on parts runs
  • Labeling and organizing inventory
  • Receiving and delivering parts
  • Helping to price out work orders
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The incumbent will be assigned to Material Support. This individual will initially work a Monday through Friday day shift.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of general office experience, with preference given to buying experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • General computer skills in a variety of formats
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Must have good people skills and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, individual must be detailed oriented.
  • Must have a valid Washington State Drivers license and be capable of being listed on the Centers Insurance policy (See Center Vehicle Operation Policy)
  • Must be computer literate and should have MS Office skills in Word and Excel, Knowledge of computerize maintenance management system is a plus.
  • Ordering procurement and inventory control experience desired
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

The hourly contracted rate for this position is a flat rate of $30.85, which is inclusive of a $2.75 Central Pension Fund diversion.Position is eligible for shift differentials, premiums for licenses, and other wage premiums as governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
