The STT division's Sustainment Materials Engineering group collaborates across Ohio and Georgia locations to execute materials development and engineering projects supporting additive manufacturing (AM), cold spray, and coatings, corrosion, and lasers technologies. The Sustainment Materials Engineering Middle Georgia (MGA) Team Leader ensures coordinated execution of MGA's contributions to progressing materials development for the group, consistency in practices and processes, on-site leadership for team members, and an on-site Sustainment Materials Engineering point-of-contact for other groups at that location. The position will be focused on metal powder bed fusion (PBF) and polymer fused deposition modeling (FDM) AM, understanding the material science issues of additive manufacturing, and connecting material properties to part end-use requirements. This will include material / process risk assessments and selection, troubleshooting, ideation for process improvement and / or material replacement, test plan development and execution, test data interpretation and reporting, and validation of part performance vs. end-use requirements. |
