Qualifications: Successful candidates should be confident in their subject mastery, well-versed in
content standards, and dedicated to sharing their instructional skills with students across the state.
Candidates with a master’s degree or enrolled in a master’s degree program with at least 3 years high school teaching experience are preferred. The successful candidate must hold a current South Dakota teaching certificate or be eligible for licensure and reside in South Dakota. A successful candidate without a master’s degree will be required to enter a master’s degree program.
Responsibilities: Working from the teacher’s respective community in South Dakota or from the NSU campus, this expert teacher will design and deliver high-quality instructional elements, offer feedback, and create academic assistance. Using the Digital Dakota Network (DDN), the teacher will connect with students across the state, managing courses to fill critical unmet local needs, making benchmark science education available to all S.D. high school students.
Possible Teaching Assignment 2024-25: Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry; other science as
needed.
