Job Summary
The Audiologists scope of practice for this position will include:
The performance of diagnostic and therapeutic audiological services on patients’ birth to adult who have or wish to rule out hearing loss as the source of their communication disorders. This would include hearing aid dispensing and fitting of assistive technology when appropriate.
The performance of diagnostic vestibular evaluations on an adult patient population to included VNG, CVEMP, OVEMP, rotary chair, VHIT, and GANS SOPT who wish to rule out peripheral vestibulopathy as the source of imbalance.
The performance of diagnostic evaluations on infants to include threshold diagnostic auditory evoked potential testing on naturally sleeping infants to confirm or rule out hearing loss.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Audiology. Certification by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. License holder or qualified to obtain license to practice Audiology in the State of Texas within 60 days of employment.

  • Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Degree.
  • 3 years or more of experience as a clinical audiologist is preferred due to supervision of students requirement.
  • Experience in videonystagmography (VNG), Rotary Chair, and cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (CVEMP and OVEMP) is preferred.
  • Experience in hearing aid dispensing for a birth to adult population preferred.
  • Experience in clinical supervision preferred.
  • Able and willing to work with and communicate in an empathetic, confidential, and professional manner to patients across age ranges and from all cultural linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Familiar with and performs all standard audiological procedures.
  • Routinely obtains knowledge of new procedures and integrates that knowledge into daily duties.
  • Recommends and dispenses appropriate amplification and assistive listening devices.
  • Performs comprehensive assessment of balance evaluations and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Performs assignments in a variety of locations as assigned.
  • Supervises students in training externs, clinical fellows and paraprofessionals.
  • Instructs as assigned in U. T. Dallas classes in Audiology.

Work Notice:
Work will be performed on site and in-person. Must be licensed (or eligible for license) to practice audiology in the state of Texas and be certified by either the American Speech-Language – Hearing Association or the American Board of Audiology by June 1, 2024.
