Job Overview

Under general supervision from higher level supervisor, perform master mason cement worker duties; supervises variously skilled mason cement workers in masonry and cement work


Essential Functions
  • Perform highly skilled masonry work; prepare working surfaces: break up and remove concrete; mix, pour, lay and finish concrete; repair and replace concrete side walks, floors, walls, and steps; lay bricks, blocks and tile; set marker stakes and make forms; clean and haul trash to appropriate area. Repair roofs, doors, walls, windows and screens; repair and replace fences; remove graffiti from walls with sandblasting techniques.
  • Plan, direct and inspect job; establish work priorities; estimate staff hours, equipment needed, material need and costs; maintain inventory and records.
  • May be required to: supervise semi-skilled and skilled mason cement workers and trades people; assist supervisor in allocating work assignments, reviewing and evaluating work performance, and in training new personnel; coordinate work with other trades.
  • Assist other trades workers in the performance of routine duties.
  • Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

Must have an approved certificate from an accredited related apprenticeship program and two years directly related work experience or high school/GED diploma and five years directly related experience. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record.


Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • May be exposed to dust, dirt and smoke; may work outside exposed to weather.

 

Shift: Varies    Starting Pay Rate: $28.37 per hour    Post Probationary Rate: 08/19/2022 per hour
