Description of Work Unit
Forests, rangelands, and aquatic ecosystems support human societies, the environment, and the wealth of life on Earth. The Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship at CSU consists of foresters, range scientists, hydrologists, and social scientists that study natural environmental processes and how they interact with human systems. The Department is interdisciplinary and has an applied emphasis, particularly on questions related to the efficiency of wildland fire management. The Department offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide variety of disciplines within forestry, natural resources management, and rangeland ecology. 
Position Summary
The postdoc will cooperate with other team members to lead the design, development, optimization and dissemination of regional multi-feedstock biomass supply chain models by accounting for both risks and spatial variabilities for the MASBio Mid-Atlantic region. 
Required Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in engineering, natural resources, economics, computer science, or related field by position start date.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, mathematics, programming, modeling, or other quantitative fields that can be used in operations research, management science, and supply chain modeling. 
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in operations research, management science, or an allied field, with proficiency in supply chain management, systems analysis, spatial optimization, risk analysis, and/or model-oriented computer programming. 
  • Expertise in quantitative techniques and software that can be used to model supply chains and associated risks in a system’s framework.
