Marketing Student Supervisor - Recreation and Wellness

Summary

Oversee the managing, planning, designing, and publishing of promotional products and photography and videography of events and programs for the Department of Recreation and Wellness.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate mastery of all duties assumed by previously held Marketing Attendant, Associate, and Manager positions
  • Train and assist with supervision of Marketing student employees at all levels
  • Communicate independently with clients and facilitate meetings
  • Responsible for the complete workflow of marketing projects including: concept formulation, design implementation, proofing of the project, and dissemination of the project
  • Continually develop and refine job skills
  • Monitor student employee certifications and requirements
  • Serve an active role in the student disciplinary meetings
  • Approve student employee payroll
  • Attend all Student Development and Leadership sessions and Student Employee Board meetings
  • Update training manuals and procedures
  • Research industry trends and implement changes to departmental marketing practices
  • Attend regular meetings of and participate in the Recreation and Wellness Student Advisory Board
  • Contribute to Recreation and Wellness history project (Tiki Toki timeline)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge in all areas of the marketing functional unit
  • Superior working knowledge of Graphic Design, Website Development, Photography, and Videography, and Social Media
  • Superior knowledge of Recreation and Wellness graphic standards
  • Ability to enforce all marketing standards and regulations
  • Experience in the Recreation and Wellness Marketing functional unit
  • This position is by promotion only for undergraduate students
  • Access to a smart phone or comparable technology required
  • Use of personal camera beneficial
  • Dress business casual
  • Position meets VCT Co-Op requirements
