The School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator for the Ohio Cyber Range Institute. The principle workload assignment of this position will be to support the Ohio Cyber Range Institute. The Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI), housed at the University of Cincinnati on behalf of the state of Ohio, provides administration of the Ohio Cyber Range (OCR) in advancement of the OCR’s mission as a cyber security education, workforce, and economic development platform. The OCR is a state-wide tool that supports programming for K-20 courses and events; full-spectrum training opportunities, including incident response teams; industry workforce and economic development; cyber security research; as well as government agency support among other programs. The position is housed in the School of Information Technology (SoIT) and integrates with its mission and planning. The position works within the OCRI governing structure and reports to the OCRI Executive Staff Director and the SoIT unit head. 


Essential Function 

Under general supervision from the OCRI Executive Staff Director, the OCRI Marketing & Promotions Coordinator will develop and maintain an engagement plan for key partners, influencers and customers.  The coordinator will document activities from the OCRI and partners, create content, and disseminate through appropriate communication channels interacting with education, government, and industry contacts throughout the state of Ohio. 


Essential Duties

  • Develop and execute an engagement plan and campaigns to promote and communicate the Ohio Cyber Range Institute ( ) to different stakeholders using appropriate channels 

  • Develop, coordinate, implement and revise marketing and communication plans and promotional materials 

  • Assess, develop, and coordinate public relations campaigns 

  • Compile, update and report marketing data related to advertising and marketing programs 

  • Assist with the design, layout and writing of print material 

  • Build and maintain websites and optimize content and experience for performance 

  • Work closely with the College and University marketing and recruitment teams 

  • Attend OCRI events to disseminate marketing material and communicate the OCRI information 

  • Collaborate with the OCRI team to achieve the program’s goals 

  • Contribute to the success of the School’s strategic plan 

  • Maintain the highest level of professional competency 


Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years’ experience; -OR- seven (7) years’ experience

  • Degree must be in Communications, Graphic Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing or a related field 

  • Experience must be in development and implementation of marketing and advertising plans


Additional Qualifications 

  • Marketing, communication, or promotion related degree at the bachelor or master’s levels

  • Experience in promoting educational, government, and workforce development information 

  • Experience in using modern communication channels 

  • Ability to develop and execute plans 

  • Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a University 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Proficient in Office Applications such as Exchange, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
