About the School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology confers an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology (PhD-IT). The SoIT has been growing at 18% annually and currently serves more than 1,200 students with 25 full-time faculty members, 20 full-time staff, and 30 part-time faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Center. The SoIT is a diverse, interdisciplinary, team-oriented, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. About the Job

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire a Marketing Coordinator who will be responsible for leading the marketing and promotions efforts for multiple centers. We are looking for a mission driven, team oriented, highly ambitious individual who has a passion to serve, make a difference and strives to perform at a competitive level of excellence.

 

The primary workload assignment of this position is to support all of the inter-related academic sectors in SoIT, including the Information Technology Solutions Center (ITSC), the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI) and the Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD).

 

This position supports marketing and promotions for K-20 programs, courses, and events; full-spectrum of training opportunities, including incident response teams; industry workforce and economic development; research; as well as provides government agency support among other programs. The position reports to SoIT and is integrated into its mission and planning while supporting a host of external stakeholders.


Job Overview

Under general supervision from the SoIT Assistant Director of Engagement, the Marketing Coordinator will develop and maintain an engagement plan and campaigns to market, promote and communicate the SoIT centers to different stakeholders using appropriate channels. The coordinator will document activities from the various centers and partners, create content, and disseminate through appropriate communication channels.


Essential Functions
  • Develop, coordinate, implement and revise marketing plans and promotional materials.
  • Develop customer and department profiles; plan ads and media mix.
  • Assess, develop, and coordinate public relations campaigns.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate results; recommend changes.
  • Compile, update and report marketing data related to advertising and marketing programs.
  • Assist with the design, layout and writing of print materials.
  • Prepare/submit for approval budget and quarterly revision.
  • Recommend cost containment proposals where applicable.
  • Coordinate/evaluate bidding process regarding advertising and promotional materials.
  • Monitor progress/quality of bid packages.
  • Ensure student artists meet quality and style work standards.
  • Determine program schedules, deadlines, etc.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Graphic Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing, or related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or advertising plans.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Marketing, communication, or promotion related degree at the bachelor or master’s levels.
  • Experience in promoting educational, government, and workforce development information.
  • Experience in using traditional and modern communication channels.
  • Ability to develop and execute plans.
  • Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a University.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere, as well as Office Applications such as Exchange, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
