About the School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT (School of Information Technology) is home to Ohio's first Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 21% annually and currently serves more than 2300 students with 32 full-time faculty members, 28 full-time staff, and 43 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Smart Synergies Lab.

About the Ohio Cyber Range Institute

The Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI), housed at the University of Cincinnati, is a partnership among state agencies and academic institutions led by UC, the Ohio Adjutant General and Cyber Ohio. OCRI’s mission is to advance cybersecurity education, workforce, and economic development. OCRI administers the Ohio Cyber Range as a state-wide tool that supports programming for K-20 courses and events; full-spectrum training opportunities, including incident response teams; industry workforce and economic development; cyber security research; as well as government agency support among other programs.


Job Overview

The School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire a Marketing Coordinator for the Ohio Cyber Range Institute to support the Ohio Persistent Cyber Improvement for Local Government Project (O-PCI), funded by the State of Ohio through a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency State and Local Cyber Improvement Grant. We are looking for a mission driven, team oriented, highly ambitious individual who wants to serve, make a difference, and strives to perform at competitive levels of excellence. This is a grant-funded position; the continuation of this position will be based on the availability of funds and the continuation of the grant. 

 

Under general supervision from the OCRI Program Manager, the OCRI Marketing Coordinator will develop and maintain an engagement plan for key partners, influencers, and customers. The coordinator will document activities from the OCRI and partners, create content, and disseminate through appropriate communication channels interacting with education, government, and industry contacts throughout Ohio.


Essential Functions
  • Develop, coordinate, implement and revise marketing plans and promotional materials.
  • Develop customer and department profiles; plan ads and media mix.
  • Assess, develop and coordinate public relations campaigns.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate results; recommend changes.
  • Compile, update and report marketing data related to advertising and marketing programs.
  • Assist with the design, layout and writing of print materials.
  • Prepare/submit for approval budget and quarterly revision.
  • Recommend cost containment proposals where applicable.
  • Coordinate/evaluate bidding process regarding advertising and promotional materials.
  • Monitor progress/quality of bid packages. 
  • Review work of student artists to ensure products meet quality and style work standards.
  • Determine program schedules, deadlines, etc.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Graphic Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or advertising plans.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience in promoting educational, government, and workforce development information.
  • Experience in using modern communication channels.
  • Ability to develop and execute plans.
  • Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a university.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Office Applications such as Exchange, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
