Job Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is a pivotal member of the Graduate Programs staff tasked with creating a communication and marketing strategy for all graduate programs at the University of Michigan - Flint. The position will work hand-in-hand with academic departments to create recruitment and marketing plans to assist units in reaching their enrollment goals and support both centralized and departmental efforts to enhance all graduate programs across the university. This position will report to the Recruitment & Communications Specialist.

Responsibilities*
  • Develops, coordinates, plans, implements, oversees, and evaluates domestic and international graduate recruitment and marketing plans in conjunction with staff from individual UM-Flint graduate programs.
  • Coordinates and evaluates web-based promotions such as email, display, pay-per-click and digital campaigns, search engine optimization, webinars, and social media using available analytical tools and taking data to identify appropriate delivery methods for recruitment efforts.
  • In conjunction with other staff, works to improve overall communications with prospective students. Also, develops and manages online and print media content in conjunction with University Marketing and Communications (MAC), including brochures, direct mail, social media, websites, and other media.
  • Coordinates and meets regularly with the Marketing and Communications (MAC) staff to ensure consistency in brand messaging to be aware of opportunities for participating in campus and community events that provide opportunities for engagement for Graduate Programs faculty, students, and staff.
  • Develops and monitors recruitment and marketing budget.
  • Works with faculty and staff among the five colleges/schools to highlight current students and alumni. Also works with programs to increase media attention to graduate programs, faculty, and students.
  • Along with the Director and other staff, coordinates the development and implementation of recruitment and marketing goals and objectives. Monitors enrollment trends and adjusts short and long-term marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Represents Office of Graduate Programs at events both in-person and online.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of experience and/or education.
  • 1 or more years of experience with marketing, recruitment, and/or communications, including print, website, social media, digital advertising, and other media communications.

Work Schedule

A consistent hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time. However, this is subject to change based upon the duties of the position and the needs of the department.
