The Opportunity:  

As a Marketing Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling narratives for prospective students through innovative and impactful communication strategies. This position offers an opportunity to blend creativity with strategic thinking, collaborating with internal stakeholders to shape the future of our marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborative Strategy Development:

  • Engage in dynamic collaboration with internal stakeholders to formulate cutting-edge communication strategies.
  • Interface seamlessly with digital, social media, and creative services teams to drive cohesive cross-team initiatives.

Needs Assessment and Goal Establishment:

  • Proactively identify communication needs and establish strategic goals in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Assess the viability of requests, ensuring alignment with overarching marketing objectives.

Resourceful Print and Digital Management:

  • Liaise with marketing team members when requests necessitate print or digital resources.
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Communication Specialist to craft compelling email copy and gather email assets.

Independent Storytelling:

  • Independently source captivating success stories from students, faculty, and alumni.
  • Craft engaging written materials such as blog posts, newsletters, and articles, determining the optimal distribution channels for maximum impact.

Organization and Maintenance:

  • Uphold and manage degree-specific playbooks, content databases, communication flows, and other material repositories.
  • Ensure efficient organization and accessibility of materials to support streamlined communication processes

Adaptive Responsibilities:

  • Embrace a dynamic work environment with the readiness to undertake various assigned duties to contribute to the overall success of the team and organization


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in marketing and communications, showcasing successful strategies.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Applications with expertise in leveraging them for effective communication.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
    • Demonstrated writing and editing skills for crafting polished content.
  • Multichannel Expertise: Experience in print, email, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Ability to make editorial decisions aligning with recruitment lifecycles, university policies, and goals.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Innovative Thinking: Innovative thinker with the ability to challenge existing methods.
  • Work Style: Independent worker and self-starter, thriving in both autonomous and collaborative environments.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and a skilled communicator with a strong grasp of writing principles.
