Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing Operations and Technology, the Marketing Automation Specialist works to provide world-class communication to students and prospects across Berklee.
The Specialist will partner with marketing stakeholders from Berklee College of Music’s Boston, New York City, and Valencia, Spain campuses, as well as Summer Programs, Berklee Online, and Boston Conservatory at Berklee, to execute robust marketing plans that are designed to meet aggressive lead acquisition and enrollment goals. Using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the Specialist is responsible for building effective customer journeys from first touch to matriculation (and beyond) to support these marketing plans.
A background in lead generation/optimization and marketing automation is desired, ideally within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Experience within higher education, the music industry, and/or a B2C-oriented environment is preferable. The ideal candidate must love working with marketing automation tools on a daily basis, effectively manage deadlines, and be extremely detail-oriented with a customer-centric mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a day-to-day Salesforce Marketing Cloud power user

  • Hands-on development, execution, and monitoring of marketing campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including email and landing page development, audience and journey building, automation building, testing, analytics and performance reporting, documentation, and more for all areas of the institution

  • Assistance with developing communication, marketing, and recruiting campaign strategies

  • Collaborate with the creative team and developers to oversee the creation of new assets (e.g. email and landing page templates, layouts, content blocks etc.)

  • Translate marketing requirements into measurable, scalable experiences for our students across the enrollment and student lifecycle

  • Manage communication processes and best practices for content, messaging, segmentation, list management, and compliance for maximum revenue and profitability

  • Collaborate and share best practices with marketing stakeholders across the institution

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum three years of marketing experience with at least one year of hands-on work with a marketing automation platform (ideally Salesforce Marketing Cloud); Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM

  • Experience in project management and project tracking

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities, projects, and resources with great efficiency and attention to detail; eager to take on new projects; creative, open-minded, and enthusiastic about seeking new solutions to challenges

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have a great attitude and be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation.

  • Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and communicate ideas clearly.

  • Knowledge of today’s music styles, leading musical figures, music technologies, and general structure of the music industry.
