Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field. (Transcripts are required.)
  • One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating complex information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with best practices in marketing for social media web presence.

  • Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Marketing and Communications; Social Marketing; Sustainability; or Environmental Studies preferred.
    • 1-2 year experience with a marketing program, writing for websites, and news media.
    • 1-2 years experience in social marketing, with sustainability or social responsibility preferred.
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting products or services that provide a social good. This includes marketing strategy and tactics.
    • Contemporary social marketing theories with hands-on problem solving; knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods; alternative ways to inform via written, oral and visual media.
    • Microsoft Office, presentation software, spreadsheet software, video creation and editing software, web page creation and editing software.
    • Adobe Creative suite and Word Press.
    • Event planning.
    • Best practices in website content design.
    • Ability to develop and execute marketing, and strategic communications plans to effect outcomes.
