Job Summary
As a part of PBS UTAH’s Marketing Department, the On-Air Promotions Producer is responsible for creating video promotions and branded content for PBS UTAH, including tune-in promos, brand image spots, station initiative promotions, station IDs, social media, and other promotional priorities. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and edit on-air and digital promotions and branded content for PBS UTAH and PBS UTAH’s three subchannels (World, PBS Kids 24/7 and Create), including:
    • Tune-in promos for local productions, brand image spots, station initiative/proof of performance spots, value and testimonial spots, station IDs and bumpers
    • Other promotional priorities as directed by Department Director
  • Oversee production of all on-air promo production projects from conception to final delivery, including:
    • Working with Department Director to determine promo priorities and needs, pulling content/clips from existing sources, or determining what is needed and coordinating production, motion graphic design/animation, editing, music selection/sound design, color correction, trafficking
  • Create and design show opens, title sequences, and graphics for local productions, such as:
    • Show open for new series or documentary, refresh the look of an existing series, create Parallax effects, animated maps, etc., other graphic/animated needs for Production Department
  • Pitch new promo content concepts to Department Director to keep breaks and digital promotion fresh and engaging.
  • Work with Director of Marketing, Web Designer, Social Media Coordinator, and Traffic Coordinator create run schedule, deliver assets and track projects as needed.
  • Help maintain promo inventory on station logs.
  • May create promotional content specifically for other PBS UTAH content distribution platforms, such as digital, social media, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Department Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
Department Specific Qualification:
  • 4-6 years of experience producing and editing short form content in a marketing and branding capacity
  • Proven track record at creating contemporary, compelling motion graphics and animations
  • Proficient in Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop (full Premiere/Adobe Suite)
  • Experience in executing a creative project from pre-production & scripting through post
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including outstanding grammar, writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Demonstrated communication skills; ability to build trust and understand various perspectives within their team and the community
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in a second language is advantageous
