Position Summary
The Division of Educational Ventures at Oregon State University is seeking one part-time (minimum of 8 hours per week, maximum of 14 hours per week) student to join our Analytics team. Reporting to the Market Research Manager, this position aids in enabling data-driven decision-making for new program development, marketing and recruitment, and academic innovation projects. 
You will work with public and proprietary datasets and gain skills in data analysis and reporting, project management, and communication. Successful candidates will have technical aptitude and a proven ability to apply themselves, learn new technologies, work independently, and complete assignments on time. This position offers successful applicants the opportunity to gain practical experience and professional development. 
Generally, the responsibilities for this position include:
  • Data preparation and report creation
  • Information gathering and organizing
  • Meeting and presentation support
  • Project management support
  • Other duties/special projects, as assigned

You will have opportunities to contribute to more advanced projects in addition to these standard responsibilities as you gain competence in the role.
This position will work from the Valley Library, preferred working hours are between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 
A remote work option may be available for Ecampus students. Access to a computer and reliable internet will be needed to perform the job duties. 
Position Duties
  • Clean, prepare, and format spreadsheets and documents for analysis and distribution using Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Box.
  • Enter and update project records in Airtable. Create and update process documents.
  • Prepare meeting materials, and record meeting notes and action items.
  • Gather and summarize information from websites, articles, reports, and other digital information sources for analysis or distribution.
  • Maintain the market research resource library.

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Passed the course MRKT 396 – Fundamentals of Marketing Research 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team 
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with data collection or data analysis 
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Proficiency in data collection/survey programs, such as Qualtrics
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau
  • Available hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Valley Library (unless an Ecampus student).
