Position Summary

Part-Time Marina Office / Retail Associate at Sandy Hook Bay Marina: Fast paced Private Marina with 120 Slips, offering both Seasonal and Transient Dockage, is looking for a Part Time, Seasonal Employee. Must be available at least one day on weekends, and possible Holidays during Season from April through November. Schedule will be 2 – 3 days per week. Knowledge of boating terminology, boats, retail sales, reservations systems, and the local area preferred. Great working environment. Must have a valid NJ driver’s license with clean record.


 



Job Responsibilities

• Provide front desk assistance and concierge services to marina members and guests
• Take reservations for Transient Boaters on the Marina Office Software reservation system
• Answer phones and assist callers with general marina information
• Schedule and log Dock & Dine slips for visitors (must understand boat types and sizes)
• Assist customers with retail sales of clothing, concessions and misc. Ship Store items – must operate a POS system
• Take ice, soda and ice cream inventory for Manager
• Perform daily dock walk and property inspections and create task lists of work to be done
• Operate VHF Radio to assist boaters entering marina (will train)
• Monitor Marina Pool and perform pool water testing, skimming and general pool maintenance (as needed)
• Monitor adherence to Marina Rules and Pool Rules & Regulations
• Light housekeeping of marina office and restrooms
• Assign tasks to Dock Attendants for areas requiring clean up, power washing, dock repair, general facility maintenance, etc.
• Other responsibilities as may be assigned



Qualifications

• Candidates must be computer literate in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of boating terminology, local waterways and the Highlands area required
• Must be able to work on holidays and weekends through the season from April 15 – November 15


Add’l Requirements:
Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook
Retail experience a plus
Knowledge of boating terminology, local waterways and weather apps
Knowledge of any reservations or POS systems a plus
Must be able to work on weekends and holidays.
Must be friendly, outgoing and customer service oriented.
Valid Driver’s License required.
