Primary Purpose: The Laboratory Quality Manager is responsible for leading the UC Health system Laboratory management team in planning, monitoring, and coordinating regulatory requirements and collaborating with other departments to create a safe and supportive environment for patients, physicians, and associates. This includes responsibility for supporting quality and safety improvement efforts within Laboratory Services, assisting with the implementation of the Laboratory department’s strategic plan for quality and safety, and leading performance improvement efforts within the department.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills
 
Education:    Minimum Required: Associate’s Degree – Medical technology, general science. Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree - Medical technology, clinical lab science, histotechnology, cytotechnology, pathologist assistant program

                                                                          
Years of Experience:  Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years clinical laboratory experience

Preferred: 1 - 2 Years leadership experience, multidepartment activities, or quality activities

Certification: Certification appropriate for field of study
                                                                          
Required Skills and Knowledge:  Experience in applying principles of Quality and operational management, occupational and patient safety, regulatory compliance, project management, and process improvement. Able to establish and maintain good communications and interpersonal relationships, and work as part of a team. Able to function as a change agent without close supervision across multiple department settings to improve the outcome of patient care.
