Position Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Student Admissions for Transfer Evaluation will be tasked with improving the transcript evaluation process from the receipt of transcripts, data collection and input, course review, equivalency decision, and Student Transcript Evaluation (STE) report.  The Manager, Student Admissions will supervise a team of three academic evaluators who are charged with evaluating courses for entering freshmen with dual credit, transferring students, returning adult students and currently enrolled students. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead implementation of National Student Clearinghouse electronic transcript transfer project. Assess data transfer process and review data entry for transcript batching.  Partner with NSC to make updates to process for successful transmission of data.
  • Revise current transfer equivalency tool utilized by students to include the most current course equivalencies for UofL and it's two- and four-year partner institutions; to incorporate transfer pathways for students looking to transfer to UofL and one of it's many undergraduate degree programs; to incorporate degree analysis functionality that applies a prospective student's transferable courses toward a UofL degree to show time to graduation.
  • Expand training model for TES for academic liaisons; collaborate with faculty members to secure transfer equivalency decisions for upper-level transfer course work, using TES. Initiate emails and phone calls with faculty members to discuss issues on courses. Once a faculty decision is made, set up equivalency decisions in TES and PeopleSoft at the time transcript is being articulated. Retrieve TES equivalencies and update student STE's within 3 days of receiving a decision from the department. Update PeopleSoft with transfer equivalencies.
  • Develop and maintain the Reverse Degree program for KCTCS and Ivy Tech community college systems; create strategic marketing and web content to increase participation in the Reverse Degree program; increase degree completion at two-year institutions.
  • Identify and resolve credit concerns with financial aid to facilitate a smooth delivery of student aid, to include the review of academic level, prior coursework received, and student outreach.
  • Liaise with academic units to create a communication flow for new/revised curriculum from academia to admissions/enrollment; review college catalog language for credit evaluation policies yearly; ensure updated catalog copy is shared with TES and CPE annually.
  • Evaluate courses from transcripts of applicants and currently enrolled students. Analyze and establish equivalences for courses utilizing guidelines established by academic units, including determination of courses that satisfy general education and degree requirements.
  • Create and maintain an annual course evaluation review process to establish up to date equivalencies for all academic departments.  Incorporate review process into daily work of academic evaluators.
  • Supervise the work of three academic evaluators and distribute tasks such as level reconciliation, AP and other credit by exam programs.
  • Oversee the annual maintenance of a web-based transfer self service tool.
