Job Description

Under general direction, Arizona State Football is seeking a Manager of On-Campus Recruiting Operations to assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies for football student-athlete and recruiting operations. This position will assist in the execution of all on-campus football, recruiting and special event programming with a focus on ensuring first class, mission consistent experiences for future student-athletes and relevant stakeholders to achieve the football program’s mission to recruit and retain the best and brightest student-athletes for Arizona State University. In addition, this person will assist with tasks associated with all Arizona State Football operations and team events. Reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Football Player Personnel and Recruiting.  Ensures that goals and objectives are met with strict adherence to NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations as well as policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Essential Duties

  • Primary focus on planning & execution of official visits, unofficial visits, game day recruiting programming, junior days and other special events.
  • Assist with management, guidance and support of Arizona State Football student-assistant program.
  • Collaborating with recruiting staff to assist with additional operation process associated with all “off the field” activities. 
  • Manage necessary logging and reporting of all recruiting information and activity required by compliance 
  • Working knowledge of and adherence to all University, Pac-12 and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Follow established departmental policies and procedures for procurement of goods and services.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate AD for Player Personnel & Recruiting and/or Head Football Coach.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in the program of assignment at the college or university level; OR, Eight (8) years of experience in the program of assignment at the college or university level; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Two (2) years of student athlete recruiting experience at NCAA FBS level (REQUIRED)
  • Experience or understanding of organizing team and individual travel arrangements
  • Demonstrated experience in being detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information. 
  • Demonstrated initiative to solve problems.
  • Evidence of work that requires organizational skills and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience working well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience in project and event planning and execution.
  • Ability to assess, prioritize and execute an array of important tasks around shared priorities. 
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in budgeting along with reconciliation of accounts and reimbursements. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PAC-12 and Division 1 NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work events, nights, weekends and holidays.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%)
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions
