Job Summary
 

The job manages academic, research, clinical or administrative programs of the University.

Responsibilities

  • The Manager is charged with helping envision, plan, and execute new educational programs aimed at helping lifelong learners better understand and engage with our world.
  • Plans and executes new programs aimed at engaging learners in the big ideas and issues of our time.
  • Oversees the development and management of new online courses that offer rigorous, interdisciplinary explorations of current societal issues and the development and management of new residential education programs that offer immersive learning experiences.
  • Oversees the development, launch, and management of new programs and courses in partnership with the Director of Innovation & Partnerships, the Director of Academics, and the Dean.
  • Cultivates new and stewards existing relationships with external practitioners and University faculty, instructors, and staff involved in these programs.
  • Engages and supports a committee of advisors who will provide ongoing guidance on courses and programs.
  • Engages and supports prospective and enrolled students, providing information and resources to them before and during the programs.
  • Oversees all aspects of program implementation.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Outreach and Communications to ensure successful marketing of the programs.
  • Supports continuous improvement, incorporating feedback to strengthen future program offerings.
  • Helps develop and manage the budgets related to the program.
  • Helps recruit faculty, staff, and instructors for the program.
  • Analyzes program budgets and recommends or makes budgetary recommendations.
  • Has moderate/high levels of interactions with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced degree.

Experience:

  • Experience in program development and management.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with online learning platforms.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for exploring current issues across all disciplines.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication.
