Description
The UNE In-Vitro Analysis Core (IVAC) facility is looking for a Core Manager to oversee the functions of the facility, which is designed to support the research needs of UNE investigators. The manager will report to and work closely with the Core Director.

Responsibilities
Managing activities:
• Conduct regular examinations of all core facility instruments/equipment to ensure all are in good working order; Contact service personnel in a timely manner when needed.
• Maintain a good tracking record/user logs for all core instruments and services.
• Make sure the core facility supplies are organized and properly labeled for use and checked for expiration dates.
• Conduct inventory and order core facility supplies.
• Understand and follow all compliance regulations. Oversees all compliance documents (federal/state/university), making sure they are up to date and that all procedures performed in the core facility are in compliance. Report any compliance issues to appropriate supervisors in a timely manner when needed.
• Develop and maintain core facility research protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), making sure all are up-to-date, organized and available to core users.
• Oversee research core technicians and assistants. Provide training as needed to ensure a high level of expertise in providing services.
• Maintain complete laboratory notes, data entry, and analysis for all work performed by the core.
• Draft project reports for oral and poster presentations.
• Provide project management and reporting of results for services provided by the core.
• Provide quotes and invoice clients in a timely manner for services performed.
Service activities:

• Plan and perform core services and data analysis and prepare reports for internal and external clients (details see below).
• Provide consultation on experimental design and execution to core users as needed.
• Develop methods and research tools to support core objectives.
• Train core users (faculty, staff and students) in proper use of core instrumentation.
• Organize and conduct workshops and/or training sessions for potential core users.
• Give periodic presentations on available core equipment and services to the UNE research community.
• Oversee all clients who are using core facility instrumentation, making sure proper prior training has been completed, all individuals are in compliances with all appropriate regulations (federal/state/university), and all performed procedures follow core facility requirements without causing safety or security concerns.
Other activities:

• Participate in continuing education activities identified in consultation with the Core director.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related science and 6+ years of experience, or MS degree with 4+ years of experience, including experience with common software, project management, customer relations, budgeting, and teaching.
