The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for the position of Manager 3, Reporting and Analytics. This position functions as the lead of the Informatics subsection of the GRC’s Research Section and functions as an Assistant Director of Research and Analytics.  The GRC engages in applied health services and population health research in a project-based team setting.  GRC’s Informatics section currently consists of eleven researchers who specialize in statistical methodology, data visualization, interactive dashboards, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  The successful candidate will: (1) Contribute to project work as a Principal Investigator, technical expert, and/or team or task lead; (2) mentor and supervise multiple staff members (including other managers); (3) coordinate Informatics section activities such as hiring and project assignments; (4) contribute to new project development; and (5) assist in leadership activities across GRC’s organization.    

     

The successful candidate should have substantial technical expertise and experience in multiple of the following areas: statistical methodology, data visualization, interactive dashboards, and GIS. Examples of specific domains within statistical methodology that are applicable to GRC’s work are survey sampling and methodology, small area estimation, statistical process control, probabilistic linkage, causal inference methods, and predictive modelling.  GRC’s current portfolio of interactive dashboards include applications in both R-Shiny and Tableau.  Examples of relevant domain experience for a successful candidate include population health, substance use disorder, maternal and infant health, Medicaid claims analysis, electronic health records, and quality improvement methods for healthcare. The successful candidate should have substantial expertise in R with the ability to mentor and teach others.  In addition, experience or expertise with Python, SQL, SAS, STATA, ArcGIS, Docker, and Git will also be helpful.     

 

Experience and Education:  

 

Required : 

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·         A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with evidence of increasing

responsibility

·         Supervisory experience

 

Preferred:  

·         Doctoral degree in relevant field of study 

·         Experience as a Principal or Co-Principal Investigator
