Detailed Job Description:

Responsible for planning, scheduling and directing the daily activities of lower level housekeeping staff; develops effective working partnerships with stakeholders; delivers service commensurate with service level agreements; promotes employee development and motivation through feedback and coaching; assists in mediating disputes; manages risk through enforcement of policies and adherence to procedures; identifies opportunities for process and/ or service improvement; responsible for the accuracy of timekeeping, inventory, and other administrative records; may assist in managing vendor contracts. Works primarily third shift, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate; may require on-call holiday rotation; may work overtime; subject to 24 hour emergency call. In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as essential short-term status and alternate long-term status. Will require the successful completion of a criminal background check.

Required Experience:

REQUIRED: 7th grade plus: 3 courses in management/supervision (or 3 mos. exp.); 300 hrs. training in use of cleaning equipment (or 3 mos. exp.); 3 courses in inventory control (or 3 mos. exp.); 1 course in public relations (or 1 mo. exp.); or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of custodial cleaning business.

STRONGLY DESIRED: Valid Driver's License; attendance at a basic supervision courses a plus; correspondence and writing, computer literacy, computer operations, supervision, safety procedures knowledge, planning & scheduling and project management experience desired; knowledge and understanding of all aspects of custodial cleaning business.

The targeted salary range for this position is $18.61-$24.81 per hour.
