Job Description

The Management Intern for Student Experience/Programming Activities Board will support the advancement of the overall student leadership and engagement agenda by providing support for day -today responsibilities. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Connection and Community. This position is a short-term position.

Essential Duties

  • Plans, coordinates, and attends events and activities for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Supports the office through work with the Programming Activities Board.
  • Works collaboratively with the Student Connection & Community Student Experience staff in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs that promote student involvement and learning. These events may include:
    • Weekly Memorial Union Programs
    • PAB Special Events and Live Entertainment Programs
    • PAB Film Series
    • Memorial Union and Student Pavilion Programs
    • Pre-game Football Experience
    • InfernoFest
    • Devilpalooza
  • Plans, coordinates, and develops comprehensive marketing strategies for undergraduate and graduate student organizations programming events supporting efforts of the Student
  • Supports efforts to establish and maintain on- and off-campus partnerships.
  • Additional responsibilities also may include: late night programming and programming around University spirit, pride and tradition.

Days and Schedule: Part-time 20 hours per week benefits eligible position with flexible days and hours based on programming needs; will include nights and weekends.

Please note that this position is also established through our department's internal program based on the academic year that is currently scheduled to end May 28, 2022.   An additional one-year extension may be offered contingent upon annual review and approval.  As a Management Intern with Educational Outreach & Student Services, you are required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of your employment and continuation of your employment will be based on your at-will status as well as being enrolled in a Graduate Program.  


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Evidence of pursuing Graduate Degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, Social/Behavioral Science, Communication or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of financial reconciliation processes
  • Experience in planning events and programs for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in working with a diverse student population.
  • Experience in working in a team environment.
  • Experience in advising student groups and organizations.
  • Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills.
